Ever since I adopted my first pit bull from the pound, I knew I would never have another breed of dog. These dogs are loving, devoted, beautiful creatures with a broken reputation.
Pit bulls are in big trouble... they are one of the most hated (and misunderstood) type of dog in America. So many towns, counties, and even entire states are working to ban the pit bull and mixes thereof. And while pit bulls are disappearing in some areas, most other places are overrun with them. It is approximated that for every one pit bull adopted in an animal shelter, 599 aren't. That means only 1/600 pit bulls are adopted in shelters.
